Mother's Day/ Beach trip

It's been awhile since I last posted anything, so I thought I needed to do so while I had a few minutes to spare.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day. I certainly did. All day long, I just stared at Cole and Raleigh, almost in disbelief. I just feel so blessed that I am their mommy; God chose ME to be their mommy, and that to me is just crazy. I'm not sure what I did to deserve them, but I thank God for my little angels everyday. They are precious. We went to church with my brother and sister-in-law, and Cole stayed in the play area with the other 2 year olds. All the children in the class traced their hands, and the teachers cut them out and made pins out of them. Mine said, "Cole's Mom." I wore it with pride all day long. Above are some of my favorite pictures of the day with my children, and of course, my mom where it all started.
Everyone knows that Eric has a fantastic job at International Paper. He makes great money, provides for all of our needs and has great benefits. I don't have to work, but I do just for extra "play money." But, every job has it's draw backs, and his is that his job is shift work. Twice a year he goes on an outage where they shut half of the mill down for maintenance, and he is required to work for several weeks in a row without a break. He just went through his spring outage where he worked for 19, 12 hour days in a row. Luckily, he was on day shift this time, but, needless to say, we all needed a break after that! The kids and I missed him terribly, especially Cole. He loves his daddy so much and didn't really understand where Eric was. So, Eric decided we all needed some relaxation, so we loaded up half our house (that's how it goes when you have 2 kids; you need to bring LOTS of stuff!) and headed to Myrtle Beach for a few days. The weather was crap and Raleigh and I didn't set foot on the beach because it was chilly and way too windy, but we still had a great time. The resort we stayed in was awesome, and it had an indoor lazy river and water park which the boys spent most of their time. Raleigh had a bikini to wear, but to our disappointment it was much too small and she disliked it very much! But goodness, did she look cute! She was a little fussy, so we only took her in the pool once; the rest of the time, we just watched as Cole and Eric played. It was so nice to get away for a few days and just be a family. I posted some pictures from the trip. And, I had to add a picture of Raleigh wearing her first hair bow. I'm not quite sure how it stuck to her hair because she hardly had any at all, but it looked precious. Enjoy!!

  1. gosh, that "outage" sounds rough! I hope you had help! I'm sure you were ready for some time with him.
