Raleigh is 14 weeks old today. I cannot believe it. Honestly, as I've said before, it seems as though I was just pregnant with her yesterday. Now she is here, growing by leaps and bounds, and she is just a joy in our family. She is such a good baby. At night, after she is bathed and nursed, I lay her in her crib around 9, and she puts herself to sleep; I mean, she doesn't even cry!!! It's amazing to me....with Cole, Eric and I literally had to rock him to sleep every night and pray he would sleep for an hour without waking up. Bless his heart, he still struggles with sleep! He, after a lot of screaming and yelling that he needs to sleep in "Mamma's bed," will fall asleep in his bed. But low and behold, when we wake up in the morning, he has somehow managed to sneak into our bed, most of the time on top of the covers so he won't wake Eric up :) It's kinda cute, but I feel sure one day he will realize it is much more fun to sleep all night long in his OWN bed! But Raleigh does great! She is so easy going and doesn't require much. Just make sure she has a clean diaper and full belly, and she'll give you all the smiles and cooing you want! She has found her hands and feet, which is very cute. Her hands are always in her mouth, especially right now because she is teething (I'm sure of it!), so there's a lot of drool and an occasional bout of fussiness, but hey, she's only 3 months old and trying to cut a tooth, so she's allowed to fuss a bit! She loves her jumper, although she's not doing much jumping yet, of course. She is almost rolling over from her back to her belly; her shoulder still gets in the way, but as soon as she figures out how to push over that shoulder, she'll do it! It's just amazing; she is growing up SO fast and starting to hit a few milestones, so it's bittersweet for me.
As for Cole, he is finally showing some very promising signs of potty training. He still won't poop on the potty, but hey, you gotta start somewhere! He sometimes will tell me he has to go "pee pee," and then other times he just grabs himself signaling, "Okay, Mom, time to go!" We are getting there. I've tried to let him train at his own pace. All children are different, and while he has shown signs of being ready for quite some time now, we are making good progress. I know he'll be potty trained by the time he gets married, so all is well!! Ha Ha
Enjoy this video of Raleigh smiling and laughing. She was stretching her gown with her feet, but still very adorable!!
